Role With Labor-Management Healthcare Fund & Coalition


Lawley Benefits Group�s role with the Labor-Management Healthcare Fund and Coalition is to provide day to day oversight, point of accountability for carriers/vendors, marketing/growth, board communication/education, budget, financial projections, project management including wellness/prevention and stewardship of the largest purchaser of health insurance in the region. This includes but is not limited to the largest retiree population and the largest Medicare eligible population. They are held accountable starting with the Board of Trustees, the Labor-Management Healthcare Fund (LMHF) administrative team led by Vicki Martino, individual members of the Trust and ourselves.

Their approach is to provide fact based information that focuses on quality, member services and controlling costs which enables the LMHF Trustees and Board to hopefully make informed decisions.

Trust and candor are foundations of their changing relationship with the individuals, member groups of the trust, municipalities, labor, management and vendors throughout the region. The continued success of the LMHF measured by financial performance, innovation, member satisfaction, growth and any other criteria established internally or externally are a direct result of the collective team.

As an original member of the team plays a role and not "the role" in leading a collection of different entities whose bias towards their own objectives will always be greater than the mission of the LMHF.

In representing the LMHF in the marketplace, the focus of Lawley Benefits Group is entirely on the integrity, documentation of the process and exceeding the expectations, developed in collaboration with Lawley Benefits Group, of the Trustees and Board or Directors. In five years of existence, it is noticeable that consensus is achieved constantly and that the issue of health and retirement benefits for the LMHF members has had little notoriety as compared to other municipalities in the region.
